What’s Your Vintage Story? – With Guest Rt9NJVintageFun 1

I started a series where I wrote about My Vintage Story and invited others to share their vintage stories with me, so I could share them here on the blog. We all love to read about vintage, right?

This week’s guest is Candy from Rt9NJvintageFun. Here is her vintage story…

We are all a living quilt of life opportunities and experiences, if you are lucky you will find your passion, at any age in time. Finding my passion was always collecting stuff, meeting people and crating beauty in my living environments. My career was in Retail Management and after 35 years, moving 22 times, I had the opportunity to relocate to the Shore, aka, South Jersey, right on the Atlantic Coast. Smelling the Ocean has always been music for my soul.

The seeds of my passion was watered by my talented Aunt Carol and Mother, spending the summers at the Jersey Shore, (before I was put to work at 14). The adults would round up the kids, all 10 of them, and take the interested ones in the station wagons and go antiquing on Route 9 in New Jersey. What a laboratory for learning and inspiring children to respect and learn about the past. The adventures were always Fun, the hauls were filled with English Ironstone and French Limoges. The chant would be … “You will never be too Rich or too Thin, or have too much Haviland”.

Fast forward to today, I am still a kid in my soul, I live a block from the Ocean and still travel Route 9 with laughter in my heart, listing only my favorite treasures in my Etsy Shop, Rt9NJvintageFun.

I still am in part time retail and still have collections – everything from 100 pounds of sea glass to numerous pieces of Ironstone and French Limoges, too many pieces to count… LOL
