“The Conversation Piece” this Week – Impressive Tiny Homes (4/16/17 – 4/22/17) 5

Every week, I scour the internet to find interesting articles or websites to share with you. Sometimes related to home decor, often times related to vintage, and always fun and interesting! Topics that start conversations, teach you something new, or make you think.

Pour yourself a cup of coffee and tune in each Saturday for “The Conversation Piece” – you never know what we’ll discover to talk about!

The Conversation Piece this Week

“Hello, my name is JayDee, and I might have an obsession with tiny homes”. This week, I found an article called “5 Impressive Tiny Houses You Can Order Right Now” by Jenny Xie on Curbed. I really would love to place an order for one of these tiny homes! This article includes photos (inside and out) of all 5 tiny houses. I enjoy seeing the insides of these homes – there are some extremely clever ideas for making a small space functional!

I especially love the home called “Minim House” – it’s just my style! Here are some photos from this tiny home (you can see more photos at the link above).

Can you imagine hanging out in this tiny home for a weekend? Even just one afternoon would be fabulous!

While there are five of us in my family (my husband and three teenage boys), I know we couldn’t actually live in a tiny home (I don’t even think all the guys would fit in a tiny house) but I would honestly love to have one of these homes to use for get-aways with just my husband. We could park it at the lake or take it on the road with us – what fun! My husband thinks these tiny homes are cool, but he says, “what’s the big fascination? In Minnesota, we simply call them ice fishing houses” (silly husband, LOL).

Someday, I would really love to create six or more of these tiny homes, each decorated in a different theme, and have them parked on lakeshore property to rent out. I’d even rent them out to people who want to use them for the season while travelling on the road. My husband (with help from me and our kids) could build the structure, and then I would have so much fun decorating and designing the inside – mid century modern, vintage industrial, 1950s retro theme – the possibilities are endless! Is there such a thing as a “FourthShift”? If so, maybe building and designing tiny homes should be our next side hustle – who wants to join me?!

Let’s Start the Conversation!

Do you think you could live in a tiny home? Why or why not?

What’s one thing you have in your current home that you would absolutely have to have in a tiny home?

Tiny Houses are in a process of development in France for many reasons, they are quite expensive though currently…. anyway, Just my style too:). we will probably consider that way of living in the future, and not only for getaways…Just to hit the road before the Departure!:) I particularly enjoy the one on wheels. 🙂 Merci JD for sharing such Great Articles.
