The First Flea Market of the Year! 5

Winters in Minnesota are very L-O-N-G!  Searching for vintage treasures dwindles down quite a bit from October through April.  Sure, there are auctions and estate sales during that long stretch, but flea markets close down in October and typically don’t start up again until May.  We’ve had a warmer-than-usual Spring here in Minnesota (our prize for getting through Winter), and the first flea market of the year was today!  Yeah!

I’ve been waiting for this moment all winter: excitedly wandering up and down row after row of tables, booths, car trunks, and trailers – outside in the fresh Spring air. Finding special treasures during this first outing is almost secondary to the experience of just being there along with all the vendors and shoppers!

At the end of the day, our shopping adventure was productive, exciting and FUN!

Here’s a recap of just some of the things we saw:

We still can’t figure out what this is…

Flea Market Mystery

A unique item we’ve never seen before, looks rather comfy…

Something cool with wheels…

One of the craziest things we saw…

And then there were the 4-foot tall dogs, joined at their sides…

In addition to all the crazy things we saw – we also found lots of unique pieces today, met some interesting people, enjoyed the fresh air and had fun together.  We managed to get everything packed in the truck, and still left some room for us!

Now it’s time to unload everything and get it ready for our shop!  Make sure to visit our store at ThirdShiftVintage.com and our Etsy shop at ThirdShift.etsy.com for all our latest additions!
