If you are looking for unique ways to decorate your home for Christmas, consider using vintage Christmas postcards! I’ve gathered some of my favorite postcards from the early 1900s for you to use. Each postcard below can be downloaded at no cost, and the digital images can be used in so many ways. To save the images, just right-click on them and choose Save Image As. Here are some ideas to get you started.

Ideas for Using Vintage Christmas Postcards

Print out the Christmas postcards and tuck them into your centerpiece or display them on a mantle.
Enlarge the digital images, print them in color, and turn them into Christmas dinner placemats.
Send the digital postcards via email to your friends and family as a Christmas greeting.
Print the postcards in color onto cardstock paper, trim them to size, then mail them as a modern postcard to your friends and family.
Laminate color copies of the postcards and use them as beverage coasters at your Christmas celebration.
Reduce the size of the digital postcards, print them in color, and use them as place cards at your dinner table.
Print the postcards in color onto vellum paper, then hang the printed copies on your windows for a unique “suncatcher”.
Print enlarged copies of the postcards onto regular paper and use that paper as gift wrap for small Christmas gifts, such as candybars or cookie treats.
Use the images to incorporate into your scrapbooks, journals, and diaries – a nice embellishment from the past!
